Your MetaTrader 4 for on the go
You can now use your smartphone to quickly and easily access the MetaTrader 4 mobile app from anywhere. If you have an iOS or android device, just download the free “MetaTrader 4” app from the store. The app is intuitive to operate and provides a whole range of useful functions:
- Mobile access to your FX account with trading function
- Quick overview of positions and orders, account balance, margin, etc.
- Chart with numerous drawing tools and indicators
- Supports a range of order types (OCO, if done, etc.)
To have mobile access to your account, the account must first be set up. Besides storing your existing live account, you also have the opportunity to open a demo account. Simply select the desired menu.
Now search for the desired broker (in this case, flatex) by entering the broker name in the search line. The relevant brokers and broker servers are now displayed. Now choose your desired broker or broker server.
Enter account data
Here you can now enter your account’s access data and save the password, or not. Please note that a saved password generally enables a direct connection to your account via the MetaTrader 4 mobile app. An additional password request is not necessary in this case.
The watch list displays your selected instruments. Clicking on the “+” lets you select and add other instruments for your watch list. Clicking on the pen symbol lets you rearrange your watch lists or delete individual securities.
If you now wish to trade one of the listed instruments, simply click on it to select.
Watch list - context menu
You can also reach the chart, the product details and the trading screen from the watch list. Simply click on the desired security and a context menu appears with the relevant selection options. You can reach the trading screen by clicking on “Trade”.
In the trading screen, you can enter the position size as well as a range of order types, such as market, stop and limit. Links to multiple orders (OCO or if done) are also possible.
A market order is simply placed via “Sell by market” or “Buy by market”. The order is then placed directly without further enquiry.
If you want to enter a limit or stop order, click “Market execution” and then click on the desired order type in the selection that appears. The trading screen then changes accordingly.
After order entry you are automatically taken to the account overview. This is where all established positions and open orders are displayed. You also receive an overview of your trading account with all the necessary information.
Clicking on your position provides more detailed information on the position.
You can naturally also close out or change the positions displayed in the account overview. To do so, simply click and hold on the relevant position and then select (for example) “Close” in the context menu that appears.
After you have clicked on close, the order screen opens and you can then directly close out your position via “Close with.....”.
The app naturally also provides a chart function. You can reach the chart by simply clicking the relevant instrument (e.g. from the watch list or the positions in the account overview) via the context menu or in the footer via “Chart”.
The chart provides a range of different drawing tools and indicators via the symbols on the top edge of the screen. Alternatively, you can also click on the chart to reach a context menu, which also provides access to the drawing tools and indicators.
Clicking on “Trade” takes you directly to the trading screen
The “History” gives you an overview of all traded transactions and deleted orders as well as money transfers. Besides displayed the current day, week and month, you can also define a manual timeframe via “Select”.
